Mr. Brusseau has been the Director of Bands at East Lincoln High School since August of 2017. Brusseau completed his undergraduate degree in Music Education with a concentration in trumpet from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in May 2014. He completed his Masters of Music Performance degree in Conducting from Appalachian State University in May 2016.
Mr. Brusseau began his career as the Director of Bands at Forbush High School and Middle School. During his time at East Lincoln High School, he has led the marching band to several reserve grand championships, a grand championship, and finalist appearances at Western Carolina University Tournament of Champions.
The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band achieve consistent superior ratings at the annual Music Performance Adjudication, and Mr. Brusseau has also partnered with many professional conductors and musicians in the area to provide students with master classes and other opportunities. Brusseau and the EL Concert Bands commissioned two pieces in 2018 one by Randall Standridge and one by Onsby C. Rose.
Mr. Brusseau is active as a guest clinician having been at Appalachian State University (2014), North Wilkes High School (2019) and the Wilkes All-County High School Band Clinician (2019).
His professional affiliations include: Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Kappa Lambda - Academic Music Honors Society, North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA), North Carolina Bandmasters Association (NCBA), National Band Association (NBA), Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA), and National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
In his spare time, Mr. B enjoys being outdoors, watching the Boston Red Sox, reading, and spending time with his wife Kara and their dog Molly.
